The 文化学院 and 关键的博天堂官方网站 (CCS) includes four interdisciplinary units with distinct but complementary missions: the American Culture 博天堂官方网站 Program, Department of 民族博天堂官方网站, Department of 流行文化，和 女性、性别、 and 性博天堂官方网站 Program. BGSU荣誉博士. 罗伯特·L. 佩里59年，65年
Although it has been more than two decades since Dr. 罗伯特·L. Perry '59, '65 retired from Bowling Green State University, his legacy is still felt today.
The inaugural director of the University’s ethnic studies program is credited with shaping diversity and belonging initiatives at BGSU. 9月4日星期四. 23, BGSU honored his achievements and contributions with the naming of the 罗伯特·L. Perry Veranda, located at Shatzel Hall.
“Today’s naming and unveiling of the 罗伯特·L. Perry Veranda will forever be another reminder of our commitment to ethnic studies and diversity and belonging,” said BGSU President Rodney K. 罗杰斯. “To know where we are heading as a University, we have to recognize and understand where we have been. Dr. Perry’s work is one of those mileposts of progress in our history.

Peña recognized for outstanding leadership
The 教师 Senate Leadership as a Chair/School Director Award was presented to Dr. Susana Peña, who served as the director of the 文化学院 and 关键的博天堂官方网站 从2011年到2021年. The honor recognizes an individual who, through their leadership, has made a significant contribution to the University, through curricular innovation or new programs, maintenance and enhancement of a department’s or school’s mission, 教师发展, 社区外展, student-faculty relations, contributions to the campus community or promotion of the University’s core values. Peña is credited with spearheading the development of the 文化学院 and 关键的博天堂官方网站 as several areas of study transitioned from individual units to a coalition.
